Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi all.
My gear box is getting worse with bearings going, seals going, and i think genoral old age.
Its an 89 4wd, what year does the gearbox go up to?
2.6l 4 cyl.
Does a later model box fit as well?
Does anyone have one laying around?

would one from a 4jg2 jack fit?

The box would be the same up to 1997 in the 2.6's for sure, I even think the diesel ones are the same but not sure.

petrol box has the starter on the drivers side
diesel is on the passenger side
