hey mate i think ur either confused with the engine types or you havent looked at the engine hard enough,
if its a td42 just add a snorkel and that should pretty well do it.
ifs its a tb42 petrol run a bead of silicone around the cap seal, round all the poles where the leads connect to the cap, and spray all the coil connections and such with the likes of wd40, water dispersant or similar, or even put a bit of grease or vase over the them that should water proof most of the ignition system. if you were real keen get a small air pump of say 2-5 psi with a pressure switch of that magnitude and pump air into the dizzy should almost garrentee it staying dry.

benos mate,
i was gunna put that compressed air into dizzy theory into my hilux petrol but the way i see it is if it holds psi in it then it must b airtight and if it is airtight then it must b water tight.
i find the easiest way to seal my dizzy is to put the bead of silicone round the bottom of the dizzy n a bit of grease on the leads as u said.

i do tend to agree with you there but if you didnt want to silicone all the cap and stuff togeather the compresser theory would work well, just would need that constant supply of air. but yeah most seem to get decent results just by using silicone and a bit of grease

Would battery soft seal work on the coil terminals.
