hi all, i am desperatly seeking info that hopefully some of you can help me with!
basically ive got a fj45 landcruiser chassis and running gear that i want to put a hq/z one tonner body on.

have you or anyone you know done this conversion? i know it has been done before and it is possible but i want to know exactly whats involved before i go searching for a good cab.
i dont think the cab would be a major issue but the front clip might cause some dramas.

thanks heaps in advance for any help!!

The usual way of doing that would be to make an RHS subframe that bolts to the chassis and the body.

Try to use a body that is the same year model or newer than the chassis. I don't know where you are but in NSW, if the body is newer than the chassis, the body has to meet its original year model of rules whereas if the body is older than the chassis it has to come up to the year of chassis rules.

Under the NSW rules, the resulting vehicle will still be registered as an FJ45 of the original year model. If you can, keep the compliance plate that matches the chassis, or at least keep a photo of it as this will make it easier when it comes time to engineer it.
