Hey guys,

i've decided to ditch my tub off the dual cab lux and make use of my work shop and build a custom tray.

is there anyting i should keep in mind when building it??

I've drawn up a design on CAD, the only thing i'm not too sure on is how to mount it.. i guess i'll make that up as i go.

if anyone has a tube bender they would like to let me borrow / help me use (i'll be able to return the favour). cause i dont have one and want to make a roll bar for it.

if anyone needs any powdercoating done... let me know

I decided it was time to get rid of the styeside tray and build myself a new custom tray.

I started this this morning,

I'm hoping to have it finished and powdercoated by the weekend.

the only thing i'm having trouble with is that the chassis mounts are different heights (front & rear) i'm sure the front mount is lower but i'm not sure by how much.
anyone know??

all i have left to do (besided the mounts) is cut and attach the checkerplate base and weld the licence plate holder on with it's backing plate.

flip your old tub upside down,

Should be able to measure off the bottom of the tub to the mounts.

yeah i really should pull my finger out and take it off.

but i don't have any friends that will help me...
well none that arn't workin or wanna get their hands dirty.

i was suposed to have someone come and help me today, but it was nice of them to have their fone turned off all day.

i really should test fit it before i weld the mounts on

can you measure off the bottom of the tub while its on the car to get the heights?

or, put a level on the side of your tray, jack the arse till the car is dead level, then measure off the ground to the two mounting points.

yeah i did the later,

it works out to be about 20mm i think.

but i think i'll have to take it off just to make sure

thanks for the offer but i'm in brisbane...

i'm going to see how long this one takes and wat it really costs me, and prob start building them for people if they wanted them, and want a hand building them, cheap.

not really in it to make $$$, just to help out people who don't have access to metal fab gear, or don't have the experience cuttin and welding.

it's always nice to know you built something for yourself on your own truck

I'm on the south side, Forest Lake.

I haven't really thought about how much i would charge for it, depends if you wanna help me build it.

have you got any designs in mind?? if so pm me and we'll talk.
i like to draw things on cad to make sure it all works.

the one i'm building for myself is like a prototype, lol.

but if your keen, i'm happy to work something out for you.

If you need a hand one arvo, I could probably give you a hand after work, and probably drag the guy who comes to work with me as well as long as its Mon - Wed as I work late Thu/Fri.

Would be interested if you want to do a usable tray for a 75 Series as well.
