OK. i'm buying my mates MK patrol. it was originally a petty model and he dropped a 350 Chevy into it (motor and conversion is for sale, pm if interested) now here's my problem, i have a 3.3 and everything i need to run it, but because it was originally a petrol model nothing lines up.
i can make new mounts for the motor/gearbox/cross member but the only thing im having trouble with is the rear drive shaft not being the right size. i have no clue what to do? would getting a diesel model shaft solve my problem?

any help would be greatly appreciated also heres a little snap shot of the patrol before the polished half cage was installed

From having done gearbox changes (4sp to 5sp) on the diesel, I've found that shafts don't seem to fit well between different trucks - something is always a little twisted, bent, not inline, what ever.

Measure the shaft from uni-face to uni-face, get a shaft that is preferably a little bit too long with good unis and take it to someone like Hardie Spicer or anyone else who does drive shafts. Getting one adjusted and balanced to the correct length totally beats messing around trying to 'find' one.

I've quite a few shafts still lying around if you're in Melbourne; not usually hard to find a good one somewhere.
