thats not an answer to the question asked...
4" lifts, 35s, no swaybars, chopped exhausts, etc etc etc are all common things driven on road which are illegal for road use in most areas of australia

i drive with them on road sometimes, not often at all though.
Not to bad to drive with, but thats on 36s with 4 inch lift, still gets the shakes up but nothing to bad

Their Pretty Easy To Setup Mate,
I Kept Blowing Beads So I Bought A Set Which I Havn't Yet Fitted. But From What Ive Seen They Work Pretty Well
If You Use An Air Ratchet Or A Drill With A Cut Up Allen Key It Will Be A Shit load Easier And Quicker

I got some one else to weld them on for me and then I fitted the tyre on myself. Tyre was easy to fit on and hand tightened all the bolts up to ensure is all even and never had a problem since.
I have some Autobalance in the tyres but they still have a bit of vibration around the 65-85Lm mark.
I only use these occasionally when doing a hard trip so I can put up with the vibration.

maybe if you take the wheels off the car and take em down to the tyre joint they will fit them for ya

i run them on 15x10s with 37x14.5 creepys on road for all the hard trips and dont have a problem with the shakes and never lost a tyre even at 6 or 8 psi.i did have them balanced by a friend that owns a tyre shop they took stacks of lead but thats wat i was expecting. i am currently un licenced and my girl drives it to the dirt for me no probs.

I run 16x8 Pro comp 51 series rims with ext beadlocks fitted & 37x13.5 X-terrains. they are my daily tyre and have no probs at all, I find they are much better than internal beadlocks
they can be hard to balance when running big tyres
I run my tyres at 5psi when playing in the sand and 8-10psi for rock & mud best investment I have made

Internal bead lock holds both tyre beads on the rim not like the usual external bead locks that only holds one part of the bead on the rim.
They are legal in some states... Please check with the Department Of Transportation of your state.

First of all the easy answer, No internals are not legal either as you have to drill a second valve hole in the rim and this mod according to the adrs is not legal. However i think you would be very unlucky to get picked up for it.
Now the hard question as to wether internals or externals are better.
Before i get flamed this is personal opion only.
I ran internals and people argue that they are better as they hold both beads (ie inside and outisde to the rim). However i had no end of trouble with the internal lock leaking and letting enough air out that it no longer locked the bead to the rim. In the end i got so annoyed with this that i got external mechanical locks.
So the external locks have been great i just nip the bolts up every 3 or 4 months and i have never managed to pop a bead and i have literally run the tyres virtually flat. Yes the tyres were a bugger to balance but once i found someone who had some idea what they were doing the tyres blanced up ok and i only get a small shake at about 65kms which i can drive through and it dissapears at about 70kms.
Overall if i had my time again i would just by external mechanical locks first time round.

Correct,
I personally liked the External over the Internal bead lock... I ran them on my 36inch pedes. How ever they're both illegal in QLD, don't know about other states.

i just threw my internal sets in the bin, both worn through.
I had them on my 95 Q, and the wheels used to shake all over the show, it got so bad i was tacking the car threw lanes of traffic, and riding the brakes to stop the shake. Took them to get balanced and checked, and we found them shagged. Took them out, and had about 5 grams of lead added, and it drives 100% now. No shakes at all....
We think that;
1) if you run rock most of the time and 50-60psi you will be fine with internal
2) If you go for the mud, get external, as the internal locks rub through, and wear a hole in the tubes

I know it wasn't an answer, it was my opinion, the first bit waandy asked for...but it was good to see you offered an opinion or an answer...

I run Walker Evans and they are every bit as good as a stock rim.....
the only other ones I would ever consider are the Unlimited Industries ones that are also self centering.
