I am looking at doing a 5.7L V8 Conversion to my Turbo diesel patrol and am trying to find out what the old Turbo Diesel is worth that is in it ?

Its a 1989 4.2L Aftermarket Turbo Complete with all accesories except Power steer pump.

380Kms and still go's really well. It needs that little rubber o-ring in the pump but other than that its good to go.

I am trying to work out a budget for the conversion so if you have bought one, sold one or even seen one around lately can you let me know how much and what sort of condition. ( 4.2L TD )

Cheers Nick

I think there a 5.7lt Oldsmobile V8. Based on a 350chev. Was never a good conversion from memory. I looked at this about 8yrs ago. And it didnt really come up as being worth the effort.

I was looking at buying one of these a month or 2 back. The price seemed to be over the 3 grand mark for a turbo diesel. But no more than 4 to 4.5 grand tops unless it has something special done to it.

Cheers, Shane

you woudl AT LEAST get 2500 grand for it.
but i would fix the o-ring first, and DONOT pull the engine untill you sell it.

If you have the truck running and drivable, you will sell it quicker and for more $$.
