I seen a few on 4x4wire and I was wondering how many here are running tires bigger than 35s? Post a picture if you can. Doesn't matter what mitsubishi...
I was hoping to run some 36.5x11.5 tires for the mud pits around here

On an 88 Mitsu with the stock axles, I wouldn't suggest running any larger than 35s. Although you can, it'll be that much easier to break an axle. I've got 33x12.5 tires on now, but when they wear out I'm planning to move up to 35s. I've made modifications in gearing and clearance to accommodate this, but I don't have any plans to go bigger. I've also swapped out the front diff and CVs and put in the same from a Gen I V6 model (stronger setup and allowed me to put in a front ARB locker).
If you still have the stock 7.25" front diff and smaller CVs then you should know that diff likely will not stand up to even to 35s. It's somewhat of a "glass" diff.
I'm over on 4x4wire as well (same screen name) and I also have an 88 (a Montero).
