80s axel to 60s cv size bell

Post by nottie »

Ok guys as the title said.
I have a set of 80 series axels and need them to fit onto a set of 60 series size CVs . I was told that the HZJ had allmost a 60 /hilux size CV bell with the 80 series spline size star but was also told that this is not true.
60 series /hilux CV stars are 27 spline and the 80 series is a 24 spline???
I counted the 80 spline 5 times and got the 24 spline every time :?
If there is nothing that will fit then does anybody have any tricks that they know of apart from getting custom axels.
I really need to use the 80 axels as they are perfect in size for what i am trying to put together.
Cheers Nottie

Could you change the balls over to 80/HJZ size? then you would be able to fit the axles you want with the larger CV.

No i am really restricted in size on the ball end. Hence why i need to run the smaller size bell
I am thinking of trying to fit the larger size ball though but that will not make the whole diff i am trying to put together a bolt together affair.
