hey all
I have a feelilng this would have been covered 1000 times before but I had a look in the bible and there was nothing and search couldnt bring up anything for even just the word hilux

The 3L motor spun a bearing and ive herd that this is pretty common. I also been told that the 5L motor is a much better motor, but i no nothing bout it. I suspect it will be close to straight bolt in, but what bout wiring in sensor and stuff? Is it a piss easy swap and will the turbo off the 3L fit?
Thanks for the help

Cheers
Aaron

its practically the same engine with a bigger bore, so it should just bolt in.

but yes a bit more electrics to take care of.

the debate of the ct20 turbo set up will never end, many say its perfect others swear its way to small... I would happily run it.

i changed the engine in my ln105 hilux from 2.8d to the 3litre but with aftermarket turbo kit. you will need a different bellhousing besides that its pretty much a straight drop in

I changed from 2.8 to 3ltr and bolted everything up the same even the electrics were the same.

May i ask approx how much you got the motors set you back? Ive been told 8.5k but i think that its a bit much.
I i could just get the bottom end would the 2.8 head match up?

you could buy a whole wreck for much less than that  I would think the 3L head would be a bit 'bigger' but really dont know.

is that 8.5k for a rebuilt one? or just a second handy? seems huge. if i was paying that much i would look at other more powerful options.
