anyone got a rough idea on cost to get some injectors cleaned/renewed?
petrol injectors not diesel.
the local place down the road said they will do it for me for $20 each injector if i take them out and bring them there
im doing it for the GU, TB45e.. (the 4.5 petrol)
i may get the starlet done if its worth it, but it only just cracked 100k and has been well looked after so im hoping they are ok...
uses less than 5L per hundred so im not too concerned

$20 bucks is a good price. Make sure you get new seals and also baskets.(the little filter in the top of them)

yeh they replaces all the seals etc... last time i got it done with my camrydoor ao im assuming they will do the same thing this time..
although they said its different to a commo as the injectors are all in line attached or something
(inline 6 and i need to undo the fuel rail and they all come out together rather than individually)

$20 is a good price, we used to charge $25 each so 20 is good!
Properly serviced injectors will be ultra sonic bathed, flowed, new pintle caps, orings and filter baskets... people who get there injectors cleaned while still in the car is a load of crap!
just check what a new set is worth from Repco, Bursons or someone though cause sometimes we didnt even bother cleaning them cause it was cheaper to get a reco set, and then you get warranty with them.. most workshops wont warrant serviced injectors... depends on the model of car etc though!!

yeh i knew about the "in car cleaning" etc.. was crap and not as good so im taking them out and giving them to them.. its not that hard to take out

(or at least it looks like it

)

got a rough idea?? i mentioned to the guy that i might just get new injectors if he can get them for me and he looked with a

look and said it would cost a fortune for them..
although the last time something was a "fortune" from him, i laughed and ordered it without even thinking the price again...

I'd be very surprised if you found them available on the shelf on exchange anywhere. If you did they would be expensive. Go with your bloke for $20 and never look back.
