hey guys. i broke my front spider gears and shaft the other day leaving me two wheel driving in the mud. i think i will be able to reuse everything else. im after a bit of advice i regards to (a) do i replace parts and wait for them to break again, or (b) go for a reasonably priced auto locking centre and see what gives next. not real keen to go all out and do axles aswell, selling up soon. how would standard axles and cvs hold up? im running an auto box with 3.9, 33's and standard gearing at the moment which seams to be a lot easier on running gear.

I'm running a similar setup with a 1987 range rover and after fitting 33" tyres blew the centres out of a couple 10 spline diffs in short order. I replaced them with the comlete standard diffs and carriers out of another range rover, since then my driving style has adapted reducing the ammount of time spent spinning wheels and haven't had another failure so far.

I have just bought an ARB which will go in the rear, partly to go thurther off road and also to start using up the surplus halfshafts that came with the spare diffs. Time and red mist will tell how long the halfshafts will last know.
