i have a 96 wide track sierra just wanting to know what size drive shaft spacers i need when doin a spoa with 2" springs. also do i need spacers for on road use as mainly just need the car back on the road for work at the moment. thanks

96 is coil suspension so is that what you have?
SPOA and 2" springs is way high any way what size wheels are you running?
To answer your question Im not sure on d/s spacer size Ive just got them after the lift so I know what I need, and I ran spoa without spacers for a little while.

you could also get leaf in early 96 and that is what mcwilly has

96 are leafys too,maybe a change over model??If you can id ditch the springs to get you going and lose some lift anyway??

running 31s atm. thats my other option was gonna see how it was with the springs seeing they are already half in but if not ill have to change it i also have 2' body lift. wanna run 33s or 35s later

Really mine was a 02/96 and it was coils!
So is any of it coily like or is it the same as pre coil models?

Im SOA with standard springs and shackles. I've got a 1 inch spacer on both front and back shafts

I run spoa with guard chopping (mainly because the diff is moved forward) and 35s so you shouldnt NEED that much lift but each to there own.
Have you mocked up the rear this will give you an idea of how much spline is showing to work out what siize spacer you need.

nah diffs arent in yet and havent measured or anything. so you would recommend running standard springs? will my shocks be ok if i run standard springs as im running shocks to suit a 2' lift? 1.5' spacer should be ok then if i leave the lifted springs in. if standard springs are put in doi need to add a leaf or just leave them as is. same as earlier models just newer, not bad for 800 bucks

Im currently running 34" tyres with SOA a 2" body, no cutting at all. And i could get 35 under it. Check out RPM's zook. His got 34 with the lift that you want. Much to high or a SWB, although it looks good

did u add a leaf to stop axle wrap?

Depends if you dont mind playing around abit but Id just put the standard leaves in and go from there (but yeah abit of mucking around)
I think I have 4 leaves in each pack on my lwb but Im going to add another to the rear.
You will need somthing to stop axle wrap it will be ok on road until you sort somthing.
Shocks will be ok on road aswell (depends where your mounts are) but they wont allow full travel offroad.
Btw dont forget to lower your bumpstops (if you dont believe how much this helps hit up gwagensteve he convinced me )

i have mounts on my diff housings for anti wrap bars will just have to get them made up. shocks mount towards the bottom of the diff. im starting to think that the 2' springs will give it to much lift making it to unstable. might add an extra leaf in the rear to stop the wrap a bit

I have had SPOA with 2 inch springs and 2 inch body lift for about a week between when i did the SPOA and when i fitted the new springs and pulled the body lift. DONT DO IT. WAY WAY WAY too high. I can run 34's with flat springs and some bashing/cutting.Stick with flat springs - RUF and deither stock or mazda p/van rear. Dont add leafs just sort out a track bar.

yea sweet standard springs it is. probably wont do a ruf atm so ill just be running normal. will it still flex ok? so 1 inch spacers front and rear should be enough

ok so im running standard springs for my spoa now. can i take the load leaf out and still drive it just on road till i get an anti wrap bar?

is it better to run the standard load leaf?

run the thicker load leaf out of the lifted springs

Don't get too stressed about a anti wrap bar on the road.

if your springs still have their spring wraps on that will help it alot.

and also alot of cars run a spring over setup without a anti wrap bar, hilux's etc. aslong as your not dumping clutch's and getting bound up on rocks it will be fine to drive on the road

There you go mcwilly. Yes there was an extra leaf added to combat axle wrap.

that is a standard load leaf, and those rubber 'thingies' were there before the spring over. for good results run standard zook leaves with an ome extra leaf at each corner, and a torque rod for the rear.

so you wouldnt recommend running just 3 leafs in the rear? my load leafs are extremely bent was just going to take them out
