Bolts straight on. As long as both are regular cabs. I think the rear cab mounts need to be moved if its an extra cab.

yeah sweet i planning on putting a gen 3 x-cab body onto a gen 2 dual cab chassis

Then you will have to mod the rear cab mounts for sure but its easy work. They are easy to remove without damaging them.
