Double cardan...

Hi all,

I am trying to narrow down the list of donor vehicles for suitable double cardan joints for my 105 series cruiser. I think the rear from an early 90's diesel dual cab hilux will suit?

I have read lots of posts on this, but can't narrow it down to specific vehicles. Mud has a good tech section, but can't work out how to refer rear Tacoma shaft to Aus vehicles (for front shaft). Once I have some specific models I can start searching the wreckers. I have a shaft specialist who can shorten it once I have the right item, so no problem there.

Thanks for any help,

Ross.

Thanks for the response.

Do you know the model/year at all. I'm sure if I call a wrecker and ask for a hilux front shaft they'll have plenty... They may also look a little blankly at me!

From what I have been reading a rear shaft out of one of the extra/double cab luxs is the easiest to modify and fit (only requires shortening). I'm just trying to narrow it down to make my life, and the wreckers easier.

Thanks again,

Ross.

Excellent, thanks for that.

Just an extra question, are both the flanges the same for that shaft as 80/105 series diff/transfer? I'm trying to avoid having to get flanges drilled and/or new studs fitted etc.

Cheers,

Ross.
