80 Series on LPG stalling after 3" snorkle install

I have just fitted up a 3" snorkle, made from mandrel bent exhaust tube, to my 4.5 petrol 80 series running LPG.

When running on LPG it will idle fine, and accelerate fine, but when driving if i rev it up then back off and push the clutch in the revs will drop right down until the engine stalls.

As soon as i disconnect the snorkle, it stops doing it. Could it be that the snorkle is too restrictive? could anything else be the cause?

It does not seem to have the same problem when running the engine on petrol.

Thanks
Andrew.

you need to install a balance line from the snorkel to the gas converter

There should be a hole on the back of the gas converter it may be threaded.

You need to run a line from this to the snorkel. As posted above.

It's an imbalance caused by forward motion creating a little air pressure in the intake. It needs to be balanced.

Easy fix.

Turning the end of the snorkel backwards also seems to work to fix this sometimes, no forced induction to create air pressure.

thanks pcman and matt, took me about 10min and $4 to fix, saved me time and $$$ as i was about to rebuild the gas mixer and strip n clean the throttle body as i heard these could also be problems, works better then before. cheers
