im putting this in general tech as it falls into both nissan and toyota sections and i dont want to offend anyone.

would the upper rear arms(std) from a gq be long enough to use as uppers in a triangulated 4 link set up?

this is planned in a hilux with 60 diffs

or would an A frame set up from a disco flex better?

This is a good basics guide to 4 link rear suspension.

Yes you could use them, would you want too, probally not. The lower arms maybe long enough for top arms depending on your final design. Good luck working it all out theres a lot to learn.

further to my original post i have a gq chassis with all arms to setup coils under a project i have now scrapped wanted to use these purely because i have them.
i also have a disco rear diff laying around with arms etc that i can raid parts off hence the4 mention of the A frame rear

How much flex are you trying to achieve? good, in the way of better then leaves or great in the way of truggy type flex.

Use the rover gear.

or

use nissan lower and rover lower links to form 4 link.
Whichever is longer as lowers i guess

chasing good flex as in better than leaves but prob not truggy type flex.
going coils to improve the ride as the leaves are a bit harsh on the road.
figure i might as well set it up right from the start.
i could be completly off with the 4 link and A frame ideas.
may leave it standard gq style in the rear if that is what is better
thinking 5 link front

Do what I did, cut them in half, they fit perfectly inside 25nb heavy black pipe

Interestingly enough, the rears fit perfectly inside 32nb Heavy black pipe too :D
So I'll be using GQ bushes all the way round

I'm about 70% of the way through doing a triangulated 4 Link on the front end of mine, should have it all laid out by the end of next weekend
