It's obviously liquid, I'm guessing oil level. Doubt the old Lux has any other fluid level sensors.

Could be water in the fuel.
There's a sensor at the bottom of the fuel filter - but I don't know what the warning light on the dash for it is.
Good Luck.

ha ha... oh dear that might be rather important and relevant.
I know when you disconnect the dash the timing belt light comes on once reconnected. you can simply remove that little rubber plug and press the button to turn it off - but i dont think thats the full story.
im guessing something has gone bang sparky wise and hence why the lights are on, due to a power cut.
but with luxs the story isnt that simple, eg when my alt died the timing belt light oil pressure light and alt light came on... pressing the timing belt button did nothing to turn it off as the problem was elsewhere.
check your fuel filter at the bottom of it is a power cord, dissconnect it and see if the light goes away. if so its just water in your seperator, drain it, reconnect the wire and should be ok. there is a drain on the bottom of the seperator.
if the light stays on then... the joys of elec gremlins begin.

it went to the auto electrician on friday to get the altenator re built and the light has gone out, im just wondering if it has any thing to do with the battery being dissconected??
and it was running 11.5psi of boost before i flooded it and now its running about 6-8psi and its got a nasty nocking noise when its under load (eg. going up a hill)
thanks Andrew

Before i got to this post was going to suggest getting the alternator checked. when the chargefuel rate drops the regulator earths out through the dash light which powers up the fuel filter light and timing belt light. It's a hilux thing.. not by design. it just happens.
