Just looking for an honest opinion i see alot of people putting 35's and bigger on their hilux. Honestly how much gain is there in putting heaps bigger tires on? Are the standard split rims and stock tires that come on the 85 hilux's that bad? (apart from being dog ugly)
What are the benefits of 33's, 35's etc.
Cheers

Split rims and standard tires on them how bad are they?

I don't have a hilux but I run 235/85R16 (32x9.5r16) on my 80series and on my sierra. I mainly drive on the beach in the cruiser going up big dunes and soft sandy tracks and I haven't had any trouble so far! When the tyre is aired down there is hardly any difference between the wide and skinny tyres and its the height you want over width in my opinion. There's also less load on your axles and bearings with skinny tyres and the cops won't pull ya up for having obviously bigger tyres on your truck!
More Suzuki parts going to the big Suzuki Heaven in the sky!
tyres do make a big differance width is probly the most important
but if your going over rocks or something where diff clearance is an issue taller tyres are important
and as for split rims they are heavy as all hell and the less weight you need to turn the better, on a hilux heavy rims and tyres are a problem since there so gutless
