79 series 1HZ turbo conversion

Post by Feass »

Hey guys,

I got a 1HZ with about 163k on it, probably the healthiest motor i have seen, its just lacks the power, naturally.

I am looking at running a turbo with about 6-8 psi.

I am looking at T28 ball bearing turbo with a 3" mandrel bent. Just wondering who else has done a similar upgrade?

mine has had a denco unit fitted for years. it now has around 420,000 on the clock still goes hard runs economically and used stuff all oil.
I run Max 11lb boost and its all good I cruise light throttle around 4-5 lbs moderate throttle around 8lb and hard throttle it boosts straight up to 11-12lb it spikes to 12 the drops and settles on 11.
