Richmond lockright pin replacement
I have the centre out of my GQ and am trying to remove the locking pins as they are snapped.
the spring is easy to remove but i thought the pins would be able to be removed through the longer hole / window.........no such luck.. Is this normal to have to take the whole thing apart?

u might want to re- do the clearances cause thats wat cause's breaking or bending pins.

once they're broken it's sometimes necessary to pull the whole thing out to get the pieces out.

yes check the clearance between the side 'gears', if it is excessive it can cause pin failure, but I've seen them break with ok clearances too.

Thanks.
Its been in for about 4 years now without a worry, so I recon thats a good run.
We can grab one half of a broken pins with needle nose pliers but it just seems to be too big to get through the window. The replacement ones seem like they will go in ok.

The only reason I am baulking at taking it apart is one of the bolts that hold the CW on wont budge and is now starting to get rounded edges.

need it apart to shim the side gears anyway :?

use a 6 point socket then you wont round the head off the bolts.
