diesel shudder when turning off

Hey guys puta second hand engine into my patrol and it shudders every now and then when i turn it off..

would it be a dribbling injector that does that.. its only every so often.. it blows a bit of smoke at night (only time i can see it)

so im guessing its dribbling a bit of diesel when im turning it off and keeps 1 or 2 pistons going for that bit extra?

Cheers,
Dion.

mine started doin it after i advanced the injector pump timing. If you do it too much it runs on, so id say i got it right

Most times you can just bump your idle up 100rpm and it will fix it

my MK SD33T does it....and its the fuel shut off solenoid that is weak and doesnt shut the fuel off instantly...it slowly cuts it.

not sure what the TD42 setup is...but check that your fuel on/off/start solenoid is working correctly.

i had to remove the spring from mine because it didnt have the guts to shut off the fuel with the return spring on it.
