Can anyone tell me the number of a few suppliers of intercooler cores?
I need a core 750x350x75.

Carl a guy called Sean Callsino makes custom items he is at the tweed someware, I don't know his number, maybe someone on outerlimits can help.

With an intercooler don`t they have to match the air flow etc of the turbo?
Whats the best way to workout howbig your cooler needs to be? I want to put one on my lux but there isn`t one made to suit my turbo

you can also get a large intercooler from a truck wreckers and cut it down to the size you need.

Actually, that is probably a way better idea. Tony & Norm did that and it cost them 3 parts of SXA. I chopped the side boxes to shape and profile and fused in new alley to suit what they wanted. Then I fused on some pretty tags so they could fasten it in front of the radiator in their GQ. When it was finished they came over and picked it up and said thanks.
Then, they took it home, and whilst fitting it with a blow hammer (nope, I am not kidding) they destroyed it.
But it is a good idea and a cost effective way to get the core. I have seen them with the pipes coming from either the side or the front/back. I am told the turbulence is superior if the flow is from the sides.
Another reason why the truck ones "may" be superior still is the depth of the truck cores. The truck ones I have seen have deeper cores than any I have seen fitted as OE on 4WD's here.

I am also looking at the radiators on some of the machines out here.
They are made of ally because of the coal dust.
It just depends on availability.

I used to run one of these on my VL Turbo it was from a Volvo truck and we actually got 3 coolers out of the one core all about 250mm high and 1200mm wide.
We paid $60 for the complete cooler and it cost us a carton each to cut it and have caps and outlets fitted to the tanks.
I then spent about $100 on stainless 3inch pipework and the Vl ran 13.04 on a stock turbo with 15psi boost.
I later sold the complete intercooler and pipe work for $750.
Since then my mate has made a heap of cash on buying and cutting these up for VLs and selling them.

I've been making intercoolers part time for a while now and I've used K&J/PWR cores almost exclusively, but now it's time for a change.
Last week we had the sales rep from Adrad (adelaide radiators) out at work and he showed us their intercooler core designs along with a sample. They are top rate.
In my opinion they are superior to K&J/PWR, particularly where the tubes come through the header plates and I think their flow should be superior.
The rep told me that ARE and Mick's Metalcraft are both changing to their cores, and these companies are highly respected in the radiator/intercooler market.
We'll be opening an account with them over the next week or so as I have to build an intercooler for a CAPA supercharged VS commodore engine in a Gemini. "Now that'll be a lot of fun"

As for Cores, what awill4x4 says, The ADRAD core he showed me was quality stuff.. Just the little things like the ends are flush not protruding giving better flow.... Also AW's making mine for the GQ......
He also makes em for Gino street machines....

No final figure on my GQ one yet, AW was sourcing the core...
He makes the end tanks the lot...
Lets just say, most of the other makers would cry!

Here are a couple of pics comparing adrad and K&J/PWR cores.
Extruded tubes on Adrad and K&J/PWR intercoolers. Note the thickness of the Adrad ends where they are likely to get hit with stones (on front mounts) in comparison to K&J/PWR.
"Folded tube/fin on top is okay, tube/fin bottom left is best & right is worst for air flow entering tube." this is from ARE in Qld.
