Stalling + back firing on LPG

Hey guys,

I just put a high flow air filter on my EFI GQ running LPG. I had to remove the old airbox and put an adpater plate between the new filter and the air flow meter housing.

There we're 2 small black lines that ran into the old airbox. I didnt have anywhere to reconnect these lines to.

I starte and ran on petrol fine. Switched over to gas and wouldnt idle right and stalled. started back up and pressed acceleartor a bit, engine back fired and stalled.

Question is do i need to reconnect the 2 small black lines? And how would i go about doing so? Also does the gas system need tuning? Was running fine before new filter.

P.S replaced filter due to old airbox had been blown apart by back firing.

Yes those will be balance or vacuum lines i would think, and need to be there or the car will lean out, and kaboom, backfire.

Did you put on a new Airbox? or did you just connect the pod filter to the Air Flow meter?

If you put on a new airbox, then install a threaded connection that you can plug those hoses into, only a couple of bucks each, no biggie.

If you just put the pod filter on the end of the Air Flow Meter, then id be taking it off, replacing the airbox ( im told VL Commodore ones fit ) and then do the above for the balance or vacuume lines.

Thanks for the reply. Could i just tap two of these plugs into the front section of the air flow meter housing? theres a fair bit of piping between the sensor and the filter flange.

Should be fine to tap them in. Post a pic for a more detailed answer. A well tuned and sorted gas system should never backfire.
