you could try mud. Someone might have done it there. Toyota specific site.
Love my outerlimits tho.

Cheers,

Nope, will need a 3F/2H gearbox or change the input shaft. 3B one is longer. Engine mounts are probably wrong too. Buy a wrecked HJ75 and swap it all over.

Can be done using hj75 parts....there is a coaster turbo dirsdrl 12ht on fleebay for 3k...that would get it going...so would a 1hz from a hz75

i put a 12ht into a bj74. cut off b series engine mounts and made more, i had a a440f auto in mine. had to move the transfer case crossmember back in the chassis 4'' (100mm) so that the radiator fits, can't remember if i had to change the inlet/outlet on the radiator. modified the driveshafts. your wiring will have to be changed as the alt/starter are on opposite sides as is exhaust.
hope this helps paddy

I would recommend 13bt, bolts straight in. Although wouldn't be too hard to modify a 2H or better 12HT in as chassis widths are the same. Easier to use gearbox from same engine though probably. The 6 cyl won't bolt straight in though.

13BT is in Roothys troopy. Direct injection, factory turbo, around 100kw (give or take, can't remember). Is a good choice for decent highway power and wouldn't notice the diffecne in the bush to a 12ht due to low down torque and small 4by you're putting it in.

Bit pricey though, maybe look for complete car and wreck it to make some money back.

Better still, live with the mighty 3B and spend the money on lockers, suspension etc!!!

how would the 13bt go turning 35"s ? or how would the 3b go with a hairdryer bolted on the side ?

Should go ok, but I haven't driven one with a 13bt, only heard good reports and to me have good stats.

You can turbo a 3b pretty cheaply, do some searches and you should find the post on how to turbo a 3b for around $1k (home brew kit). However a turboed 3b will not match a 13bt due to direct injection.

The 3b will turn 35's, just won't break any land speed records. I drive 33" JT2's (which measure almost 35" anyway) and can go 100km/hr most of the time. Hills kill you, 5th gear is a waste of time and fuel efficiency goes to shite. Depends how impatient you are on the road.

13bt will have no problem spinning up the 35''s Engine braking downhill will be reduced though.

This BJ74 pulled 74 rwkw on 37", not bad for a 4 cylinder. 719nm of torque on stock 4.11 diffs.

my bj75 troopy (1987) has a 13B-T and 35" simex XT's and H55F all is fine.
