98 hulix xtra cab 31's

does any one know what is involved in getting 31's under a stock hilux xtra cab 98 mod 
a lot of people just wind the taution bars up a bittle bit , my nahbour did this and put 31 bf's on and it looks heaps better and he has done over 100.000kms without a problem
