hey guys i have been told by a couple of mechanics that an lsd operates on a tension nut or screw. and this can be tightened up to make lsd more effective. has anyone done this and if so how hard was it.

not sure if information is correct

Can be done with a thick washer ( ive got about 3mm in the front and 4mm in the rear and you will need a press to get it back together) but for the effort you go to you will still disapointed with the results.

Theres no nut or screw, just a big spring and a couple of clutch packs.

Shim it up, and wack that one in the front, it won't get used as often obviously so will last longer.

Ive got a shimmed one in the front, not worth having IMHO.

I've seen them work quiet well for what they are, a cheap diff upgrade, not as good as an airlocker or a welded centre, but imo i wouldn't want a welded centre in the front, pain in the arse to steer and just another thing to worry about.
