List in point form exactly what bits and pieces you have so far...

Then what you have done so far.

Spoke with an engineer yet?

1st Question, why are you running the GQ auto ?

Best off with

5L V8 304
Commodore T700 auto with over drive
Marks adaptor to mount T700 to GQ transfer.

Then you need,
Fuel Pump
Surge Tank
Lift Pump
Fuel Lines
Exhaust
Bracketry ( to run power steer, air con. alternator etc )
Engine Mounts ( not sure if you need gearbox mounts )
Radiator & hoses
3L TD Air box from a GU ZD30

I personally dont like the idea of the GQ auto.

The T700 works well so why change it ?

why would you go to all that effort and cost for so little benefit. if your going to change the engine at least put something decent in there like an ls1.

What do you need to know ?

Is the gq one strong enough ?

Ask a question that makes sense and we can try and help you but your not making sense.

if its efi why not put a turbo on it, cost you about a quarter of the price and have more power and take half the time.

Motor i have is blown.

the gaerbox problem i am having is i need to know what sensors i need to keep to make the gearbox shift, whether it be throttle position sensor or what?

its still alot of work and would still be cheaper to put another 4.2 in it.

yes for the Gq auto to work properly you need to keep the tps and adapt it to the 5.0L or your pedal

in saying that it will still work with out it but as i understand the standard GQ auto won't be up to the task

it might be ok if you adapt the tps to the 5.0L i think the tps controls the oil pressure as well as when it changes but i ran my auto with out it and blew the auto up with in 500kms its been great since i fitted a extreme valve body with other mods
