DIESEL TO PETROL

here is a link to my current project:

SAS body swapping IFS 1987 to SOLID 1986

My question is,
I'm currently using a VERY RELIABLE but smokey 2L-T(2.4L turbo) diesel motor but body swapping to a dinosaur 3Y(2.2L bigger carby with extractors) petrol so what wiring is required to use a 3y petrol carby motor?

My view on ignition is:
*cut out the glow plug wire (done because mine is on a button)
*need to find how accessories/starting/running power works from the key barrel?
*the coil is built into the dizzy so all wiring to make motor work is based there?

last but not least is the swap easy as I think or like my mates say just use the diesel motor and move engine mounts?[/i]

As you have a donor car, why not swap out the wiring loom as well? Wiring problem solved.

Something you should consider is that in a short time the NSW labor government is going to make all unleaded fuel, E10. So while you have it stripped down, replace all the old rubber bits in the fuel system for stuff that will survive E10 fuel. Or you keep the diesel, give it a birthday with some new rings and bearings and enjoy the cheaper fuel.

Spotted unleaded at $1.33 a litre as against diesel at $1.26 a litre

My threepence worth
