winch help

hey fellas, i went and bought one of those cheapo aldi winches as i will only use it a few times. but as i am fitting it i need to spin the whole clutch end of the spool 90degrees so the clutch lever is accesible oncce installed. does anyone know if this is possible and how easy is it to do.

"Generic Advice" - might not help but...

undo the two stays between the motor and gearbox ends of the winch ( assuming its not mounted ). Gearbox can then be removed from the drum.
Don't let the drum come off the motor end.

Looking at the inside end of the gearbox ( the bit that was hidden by the drum ) they should be a circle of small cap screws.

Remove these and the cylindrical body of the gearbox should rotate.

Allign it where you want it / its possible and then reinstall the cap screws and put it back together.

No guarantees... but.

Whilst your at it, i'd actually strip it down ( easy job ) and replace the grease with good quality stuff and make certain everything inside is as it should be.

I believe those winches are Ironman ones, but a previous model. May help if you need info or parts...
