Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi,

I have an 84 4 runner with the original 3Y in it. The alternator/regulator has failed and was wondering if there was an alternatative with an internal reg that will bolt on. I did a search but couldn't see anything applicable.

mate i dont know if this is gonna help but,
i got a 4y and the alt. was screwed so i got a internal alternator off a later model hilux and rang up an auto electrician and got him to fix it all up..
thats wat i did but it took him a while to do it.
dont know if that helps tho..

i put the bosch alt on got it off a 2s corona minor mods fits sweet
mods mainly wiring to remove the external reg as the bosch is internal but easily and cheaply replaced

An alternator off a 1988 tarago will bolt on has inbuilt reg and high output
