Sorry if it has been answered before, but after searching about taking a leaf out i get one saying take out load leaves and others saying 3rd from top? My problem is i want the tyre to tuck up into the guard more, which one will help with that, even though they are new they are unbelievably stiff? They are efs 7 pack 3 inch springs btw. Dont have photos either, but imagine driving up a ramp and the rear compressing about 20mm?

mate you could take both the main load leafs outs and all it will do is give u more axel wrap and prob another 50mm of tuck
if you want more flex go ifs rear springs or change ur springs all together to longer one to archieve the most if ur on a budget a chaepish way to get the most is buy some ford au springs, some new hangers, some extended shackles and a anti wrap bar
its the only way to get decent flex without goin all out and gettin coils or drop shackles or so on
i havent done this but every one seems to be happy with there results after fitting ifs springs with 200 eye to eye shackles and swap and change some leafs, trail and error much cheaper tho prob 200 for springs 200 for shackles or make some of ur own hope i didnt blab on to much

yeah they say that they will flex better with a decnt load in the back but they cant be soft other wise when u carry load it will just sink in the rear good luck any how

Thanks mate, wont be carrying any loads, trial and error i guess, it seems there is an extra leaf compared to my oldies, might look at him first, i think its 2 up from load leaves, only thing i worry about is sagging quickly? Or is that not gunna happen?
sagging

it shouldnt be an issue i use to have a 86 model dual cab and i brought a second hand set of 2inch lifted springs with the 2 main load leafs removed, thought it was a good idea but all it did was give me axel rap as stated
i am a carpenter by trade and carry loads all the time and use to do beach trips with huge loads and sagging was never an issue with mine so dont think urs will be any different espeasially if ur not carrying any thing

Mine, 4 leaves no load leaves
As you can see you need an anti wrap bar ( or whatever they are called) my springes lasted about 3 months

Sorry for the hijack.. but i think you just answered my qtn aswell!! Are the ifs rear springs the same as hilux fronts? (out of a 1980 - RN46).. i've got the front springs from a 1980 lux flat tray in the rear of my zook.. and they just wont flex!! Cant take anymore leafs out.. no#1 i will get axle wrap.. and no#2 all the springs that are in there now serve a purpose!!
