Turboing GU 4.2 straight diesel 1998 model

hey guys

just wondering i have heard that the 98 straight diesels go when they get turbos on them? just wondering if anyone have any info?

sorry mate

i meant go as in like blow up. apprently they run different pistons to the GQ and newer GU motors?

As far as I know the td42 non-turbo motors are all the same,

You may be getting mixed up with the tb42 and tb45?? as the tb45 has weaker rods and different pistons.

have heard there is a difference something to do with emission standards.

gu 4.2 diesels had lighter pistons in them than earlier gq 4.2.

it was to try and make the engines a bit quieter,they are a bit weaker though.

boost should be kept at about 12psi max.

Early td42's before changes had a silver rocker cover, after that they were/are black top.

hey dude its josh, i reckon you'll be sweet runnin like 10 psi through it and i know a few boys who could put it all on and everything, and yeah the non factory turby diesels have like a smaller crank and shit but its all good.
