Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi, hoping for some advise if some one can help please. Intstalling a snorkel on my feroza soon and am currently looking at a vn commodore filter box on ebay, plan is to cut n mod to put snorkel thru as these are rated highly for air flow and are reasonably compact. Is there a problem with my (often flawed) thinking?
