Transfer Stuck

My transfer is stuck in neutral, actually has been since easter but haven't had time to do any more than clean the sand out
It happened up the beach trying to shift back from l/range
I've been told it is a bush at the base of the transfer lever and has happened to a few mates before. Since there were no crunches or bangs I'm inclined to accept this
Can anyone tell me more about it than my mates though....ie more than it cost $80 at the mechanic

just compress the spring loaded cap at the bottom of the shifter stick and turn 1\2 turn ,the stick will lift out ,then remove the old shifter sheet(probably in several bits) clean out the seating area then insert the new sheet by flexing it past the 2 retaining pins . suzuki part no 29541-80051. Cost me $14.20 last week.

its stuck in nuetral so you rip him off, funny stuff. but also cruel. no wait it is funny, because being a farmer he should not be as dumb, with machinery atleast.

Note that you will still be able to use the car by removing that plastic thingy, then putting it into the required gear, then remove the stick
