manual gearbox for 80series
ive got a 80series crusier with a 3f petrol manual box not good .1st to 2nd not good.can get anougher box but it is out of a turbo diesel guy says only bell houseing got to swap over then it will fit is this right.ty.brian
give us a bit more info instead of saying "not good"
what is the problem?
if it is hard to shift from 1st to 2nd, this is common with 80series manuals, especially the early models, try changing the oil to Castrol VMX-M (about $30) it is surprising how much difference it can make to how easily the box shifts gears
turbo diesel had different gear ratios from memory.

you can use the diesel box no problem
you need to fit your bell housing
depending on the input spline you end up with you may need to get a different friction plate for the clutch made
other wise boxes are the externally the same
ratios are different but not enough to really notice na diesel has a lower first

Its certainly is the ducks guts of gear oils tho- The lux, Prado and Rodeo all have it in their boxes and they are beautiful to shift now!
