3b fuel problems

high all, I found this site as i was looking for info about my 3b motor which has developed a fuel supply problem some 400 meters after filling up at a sevo one morning. Thought it may have been dirty fuel but the next morning on the same corner it happened again 200 meters down the road. when on open road cruising there is no problem, but if i spend a bit of time putting around town or my block, the next time i get onto the open road it starts spluttering again, sometimes to the point of having to hand prime the fuel to restart, and at 5.00 in the morning this is not fun. Am thinking that there is a small amount of air accumulating somewhere that is comming through when i go to the higher revs. Any suggestions please are welcome.

could have some crap in your fuel tank blocking the pickup, or as you say a small leake allowing air in.
try tightening down all the fuel lines coming out ofr your injector pump, the seals at the outlets of the injector pump tend to shrink over time. this was causing my 2H to misfire occasionally, tightened em up and its good as gold again.

I'd change the filter out anyway; it still sounds like a blocked fuel filter to me. if that doesn't help then work your way back along the fuel system starting at the pump - if any fuel is leaking out of the pump or injector lines, then air can also leak in. use compressed air to low back the line into the tank, and check the tank for black algae and/or moisture - a few hits of a diesel fuel conditioner from supercheap will clear any algae/water up but you will go through a few filters before it's all cleared out.
good luck, let us know how you go
cheers
