Brake Problem

My LN130 Surf seems to be running out of vacuum if I have to give it 2 0r 3 quick brake applications. Checked the lines and can't find any leaks.

Where to look next. The Alternater vacuum pump or the booster?

that's pretty normal. if it bothers you, you can fit a vacuum reservoir between the brake booster and the vac pump. blipping the throttle (clutch in) while braking can make some extra vacuum quickly, but at or near idle it take a few seconds to pull the booster down to reasonable vacuum.

the booster does not improve braking performance, it just reduces leg effort, si if you run out of vacuum you just have to push MUCH harder and you can get more or less the same braking effectiveness.

It wasn't doing it yesterday, pulled the booster out and had it tested. OK.
Pulled the Alternater out and getting it serviced with a near new vacuum pump fitted.

It got soo every time I used the brake the low vacuum brake light came on. Bit of a worry driving like that.

Fitted the new Vacuum pump and still got the problem. Managed to trace the leak and it seems to be in the smaller line which goes under the throttel body. Maybe this line goes to the EGR valve. I've blocked it off for the time being to see how it goes. Will see about fitting a extra vacumm tank to the booster.
