Are you sure about getting 32x11.5 on to your vehicle as I thought 31 was the max? Can anyone explain rim sizes and off-set please. I am interested in finding out what is meant by off-set rims?

32 " tyres WILL fit, but your gearing will be shot to pieces !!
Boris, are you sure you want to loose that much gearing ?? You'll wear through your clutch twice as fast from 'riding' it to get over obstacles, increase your chance of damage to other things from having to hit the obstacles too fast ???
Jimmy - Offset refers to the 'backspacing' of where the mounts in the wheel actually are.
If you have an 8" wide rim, the mounts are usually between 3-4" from the front edge of the rim and that would leave 4-5" of 'backspacing' (measured from the back of the rim)
The only problem with getting a wider offset (say 4-5+" from the front lip of the rim) is that it puts more pressure on your wheel bearings, making them wear through quicker. It does give you a wider track on the ground, which is better for stability.
Like most things with 4WD's, it's a compromise

Depends on the 32" hey. A Simex etc will measure that if not larger but lots of other 32's will be genuine 31's at best.

Will the gear problems be so huge? We have a vitara on 33" simex and it rides well.

BUT as I was saying in my first post, it's about the obstacles, not the driving on the roads !!
