Don't know myself, but you've got me curious - you don't know much about it, but you're going to buy it? What's the story?

Wild guess - looks like TI wheels? Wood trim & leather(?) seats? That would suggest EFI to me.

under the bonnet on the fire wall will be an id plate, on that will have the year manufactured and engine type.

If its got a carbie its carbied, if it don't have one... well you know

I'd say '95 onwards 4.2efi Ti. I'm pretty sure paintwork changed post 95 as in your pics. Pre '95 the two toned paintwork continued along the length of the body and doors, not just wheel arches, etc.

Post '92 were all efi afaik, leather, woodgrain, auto, chrome look side mirrors, alloys, console cup holders, rear stabiliser release, etc. would suggest Ti.

Last photo, near the back decal looks to read 4.2efi

If it is a 95 Ti some of these were also optioned out with sunroof, can cooler in rear, and cooler in glovebox. Maybe rear auto locker??(or was this just early Mav's?)

94 or early 95 probably early 95
its EFI
in 95 ( later) they changed to the GU type steering wheel ( different blinker stalk and wiper stalk.

it also has the newer style gearshift leaver but not the raised center console lid

it would also have rear factory locker

it has rear air and cooler box on the drivers side at the rear( you can tell by the fixed rear window on 1 side only).

BTW, " weary" of the auto in that truck ( it may be flakey depending on use and km's) because its obviously been towing large loads because of the brake controller fitted to it.

it does " look" low km's though, due to the lack of prominent wear marks in the seats , brake pedal, and on the top the steering wheel.

Dont know about Patrols, but is that a hand throttle to the lower right of the steering column. Did petrols have them? Or is it the choke?

you could just read the rego label. You could just ask the salesman.

Do the used car dealers in your state have to display a history report on the window of the vehicle ie, name of the former owner, year registered, options, price....down here they do.

It would be worth ringing the former owner and find out its history etc.

Does this model come out in Diesel? I reckon its a Diesel model.
(judging by the low revs on the gauge)

Is there a problem with the gear boxes or is it just generally? i have heard the boxes are pretty tuff or am i misinformed? was tossing up between a 80 series or a GQ but i could not find a decent cruiser for the same money... only the old 4.0L 60 series motors... plus i think the GQ is a little more robust over all :D

it was more i could not quite make out the sticker, thought someone who has one would be able to recognise the shape and know what it was... figured it was a efi stick but wasn't 100% sure

have you actually seen the vehicle in person? Have you taken it for a test drive have you done anything more than just see it in an ad?

Yes i drove 500km to test drive it and drove back to ask the questions......

The only reason i posted here asking about the year is cause when i spoke to the caryard i forgot to ask the year and if it was EFI, so rather then ring the fella at 10pm i though i would ask here, i am not buying it sight unseen, i am going to travel down, but not until i think that its worth it. if you aint posting anything productive, don't :D

Did you say you have already driven it, but won't buy it before driving it?? And why so grumpy is it that time off month?

I get the impression he hasn't driven it, when I worked onsite at a car yard I don't think anyone got to the point of driving a car and didn't think to look under the bonnet, you know ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer...don't crack the poopsies with members here because you where to slow to open the bonnet (not that I beilive you went).

Sarcasm, i was trying to make the point that i am not in a position to drive 500 km to test drive a car without knowing its worthwhile, you know. Ill give a refundable deposit when i reckon that i have enough info to make the trip worthwhile, its not i got the "poopsies" at all, i just thought that asking here late at night would be better then ringing the salesman ya know. When i go down there the first thing ill do is look under it and pop the bonnet, its all good
