Picked up an 80 series last night but prob with sub tank.

1. Sub tank gauge does not read after I put 20 litres in it.
2. When you press sub tank switch the switch light goes on but turns off straight away

Any suggestions?

have heard of the baffles in the tank coming loose maybe they are hitting your fuel sender. not sure about the light

for the switch:

control module is kaput ( passengers side behind the rear seats in the side panel)

common problem, i have 2 dead ones here

you can test the transfer solenoids if you like which can also also fail

but my money would be on the control module

you can bypass it...

pull the sender and check, under the carpet from the back of the car

or the guage could be stuffed...

If your main tank is more than half full your sub light will turn off automatically because it gravity fed and not by a pump like the 100 series
