1988 GQ Auto LWB wagon.

Auto behaves as does in neutral when in drive (ie no drive). Just happened all of a sudden today.

Got it wet in a muddy hole last week and lost overdrive for a bit until it dried out - then od was fine. Replaced oil (was milky) and was able to drive for a few hundred metres then nothing again...

any ideas what might be the problem? electrical or mechanical?

any help would be great

An auto full of crap is not a good sign....
I'd be starting with taking it to an auto place for a full flush.. and hope... rebuild is $3000-4000...
