When I spoke to an engineer (A.C.T) the highest I can go is 4" and the biggest tyres I'm allowed were 285/75R16 (which correct me if I'm wrong are pretty much 33s). I have 35s but will get some 285s for long distance touring and to get it engineered with. Obviously what's legal varies from state to state.

True but I know 33's are legal here and we have some of the tightest rules

what state are you in? HAve you bothered to contact your own states RTA and find out from them? Some states will allow it, others will if you get an engineers report while others wont allow it at all.
