Outer Limits 4x4 Board

hows it going, so my wipers decided to only half work the other week and get stuck half way up. finaly i got sick of it on the weekend and pulled the motor out from behind the dash and now i cant find a replacement, just wondering are there any differences between the sj80 motors and the rest of the sierra wiper motors.

and also where can i start looking, the only one i have been able to find is a genuine one through suzuki worth over $550..

hey i know that they are different between the 1L and the 1.3L. I am not sure about between coily and leaf but the 1.3NT is the same as the 1.3WT. If they are the same and you need one I have one here.

sweet over half price, still dear just to check if it is the actual motor tho, i think i might have to look into it a bit and see weather it is the motor or another problem coming from somewhere.

The one in my 1.0 is the same as one I pulled out of one the last of the leafies. I thought I would need it to run the intermittent wipers from the late model as I swapped the stalks but it was the same.

Definatly pull the motor and test it. I thought mine was stuffed, pulled it out and its turning fine, plugged it into the car and it turns fine...turns out the pivots for the wiper relay rods had seized up, used a bunch lithium spray-grease and worked the wipers by hand and they're workin fine now.

thanks mate ill spray them too, but there is power going right through the motor constantly so im guessing its shorting inside somewhere? could be rong but i cant see there being a need for constant power through the case or bracket of the motor

From memory there is power going to it constantly which is how the wiper returns to the bottom when you turn the switch off, rather than just stopping dead half way up the windscreen (like when you kill the ignition).

Mine was actually stuck part way up and the motor was trying to turn, it was like that for about 2 months, every now and then I'd hear this really strange noise, turns it it was the wiper motor trying to turn. They must be pretty tough motors, mine was stuck hard for 2 months trying to turn and it didn't burn out.

I should add that my wipers were stuck hard, took a bit of force to get them turning again. if the motor is still out check that you can move the wipers by hand, if not they're stuck...hit them with some grease/wd40 and try to work them back and forward untill they're all nice and free'd up
