Ok.. mate worked out a custom immboiliser that i can build for about $10 and works a treat. However, he desigend it for his petrol cruiser.. ignition coil, but there isnt an ignition coil on a diesel. Soooo from knowing the internals of my engine bay, there is a mechanical injection pump: no good, glow plugs: electrical.. if i isolate these using the immboliser there will be fuel being pumped into the combustion chamber.. but no spark to ignite the fuel correct? Is the fuel pump electrical in these engines?
From what i could understand laaaaaaaaaate the other night, it uses 2 relays and a switch to isolate whatever u connect it to. Will get a circuit diag of him if he will let me distribute it =}

nah. glow plugs are only to help start up quicker and if they arent on it will just take a bit longer to fire up because of the heat genterated from compression.
just put a kill switch on the fuel solenoid.

Don't know what truck you are talking about. Most don't have electric fuel pumps (some newer common rail/unit injection motors do).
Try a hidden (shielded) solenoid valve in the fuel line between the tank and lift pump. You could also use a hidden reed switch - no visible switch, you put a magnet near the reed switch to power the solenoid.
Most diesels with mechanical injection pumps use a solenoid fuel cutoff on the injection pump to stop the motor. You could rig a switch in the wire to this but a thief could jumper it.

But a thief would have to look for it and most of the time they don't have time as we are rather fond of our rigs. I have seen on some rigs a key system, that isolates the battery and will not work without the linking material, once again a thief could jump the system but still they would need to know what you have done in order to take it as it has to be a certain shape and have metal in the right bits. Still it works well as kill engine switch too.
