Unimogs here in Australia

Hi all, just wondering who else has a Unimog here in Australia? I just bought one and will be turning it into an expedition vehicle for touring around Australia and SE Asia ( maybe through China to Russia and on to Europe eventually) It would be good to catch-up with other Mog owners, I know there are not many of us around.

Here's a photo as it stands today - next to my 32" Land Rover tyre to give a sense of scale. The Mog is an ex-Railcorp truck, used for fixing power lines etc. Only done 82,000 and has a new engine and probably never been off-road. It spent most of it's life on rail tracks. First thing is to get rid of the HIAB and Cherry picker on the back, and the Hi-Rail gear. Then to get the proper wheels and tyres 14.5 x 20 ( they are 42" tyres - anyone know where I can get some 11x20 Unimog wheels from?)

When its finished - the plan is to look like this:

The first Mog listed on Ebay was pulled off early, the second one is not mine.

Hi guys
Saw my first mog nearly 10 years ago in the Simpson Desert (they were part of the support crew for the Simpson Desert Cycle Challenge - http://www.sdcc.org.au/).
Decided then and there that I wanted one - and its been a 10 year project in the making.
After lot's of looking, I've discovered a very close mog network in Australia (part of Rocky Mountain Moggers based in the US - http://www.rockymountainmoggers.com/) - you think we're nuts, these guys just take it to the next level and then some...
Take the time and trawl through the site and if you're genuine, then these guys WILL help you with mod's, spares, ideas, advice - everything to build either a comp spec mog or a go anywhere/everywhere tourer.
Cheers
