Can anybody help please I have just rebuilt my engine and unless I spray petrol continueasly down air inlet it will not run. On the first turn of the key it attempts to run but only for a second or so.
It is a Sport trak 1600 16 valve 1993 model. I obviously think it is a fuel problem but everything seems fine petrol is getting through the pump. The petrol I am spraying is also bypassing the injectors but before the rebuild the injectors were not giving me any trouble............Thanks

Hi Stephen, have you tried unplugging one injector and checking with a multimeter (or something similar) that the injectors are getting voltage pulses from the EFI computer when the engine is cranking over? All the injecotrs run in parallel, so unless you've got a wiring problem, if one is pulsing all of them will be.

Undo your fuel rail and check if the injectors are actually delivering any fuel thru them...you'll prolly find they are blocked. You can take them to somebody to clean 'em and that should fix the problem. How long was the engine not in use during the rebuild???

Not a good idea AJ! The fuel rail holds the injectors in place- if you unbolt it and then turn the ignition on you risk the fuel pressure dislodging an injector and fuel going everywhere.......

Yeah, spose so, but if you just crank her over once or twice, it's fine...never had any probs with it....
