Downsize 6" to 4"

Post by nobbie »

Heya guys,

Im purchasing a 6 inch lift of a mate of mine but i want to drop it to 4 inch and im waiting on my drop out cones and coil retainers from superior engineering for the rear. But i was wondering will 6 inch shocks with 4 inch coils on the front be ok or will i need to get new ones or is there some way around it. any help would be appreciated thanks. ;)

Also any one intrested in buying 6 Inch Big O 4X4 droped radius arms and 6 Inch Dobinsons Coils, both in good nick.

i think u have made a typoe as u say 6in springs off a mate.

but if u mean, 4in springs, i have just gone from 5in wit 7in shocks to 3in wit 7in in rear with drop out cones and 80seires bump stops mated to them and retainers on the botom.

5in coils to 3in coils in the front with 5in shocks, no retaining. have jumped it/lifed wheels and been on its side n the havnt fallen out

You have to extended your bump stops to stop the shocks from bottoming out.
