Question from a friend at work - he owns a 120 Prado, and wants some decent tyres. Not keen on running BFG's, he's interested in the Mickey Thompson ATs, or the Coopers. I've shown him the mod to the calipers to make 16s fit, but it's a lease/work vehicle, so not keen on taking to it with a grinder. ANy thoughts on these for general road/bush work?

Buy a 2nd set of callipers and bolt em on with 16 inch rims and keep the previous callipers for when the lease is up??
Just an option .. may be too expensive dependin on how much callipers are..
Cheers

try find some factory 16x7 GXL 90 Series Prado Rims.
Apparently these fit with no caliper mod.
can't confirm this though, as i have ground mine to get the 16x8's on.
A guy ont he Prado list had a set of the Mickey Thompsons and they were rooted after a 4 day high country drive. he now has Cooper STT (16's)

smallest procomp is 285, and this will scrub big time if you don't want to:
1. remove front mudflaps
2. trim the flares
3. trim the bumper and inner guard
4. install 40mm lift springs
even then (i have done all the above and my springs lifted the front by 55mm, they still scrub a little)
