$1500 to burn

Im getting some new suspension for my dual cab diesel ln 106 HiLux. The car is my daily driver but I do like driving some harder tracks. I dont carry weight except for my front arb bar so will go for a comfort kit. The car currently had pedders springs and OME shocks but have passed their use by date. Just wondering what is a good option for HiLux's in terms of ride quality and Flex. Im after a 2"lift, have a $1500 budget, and I will be fitting the kit myself. Im sorry if this question has been asked before, I would love some advice before spening my money on something that wont work. Cheers.

Old man emu worked in my old mans 85 luxxy for 23 years.......then i got it and dropped in a v8 then back to a v6 n that farked em pretty quick

that was a 2"lift and had pretty sweet flex and if u drill the diff perches and move it forwards about 20mm u will fit 33's comfortably.

Nice, thanks guys. Im currently running 33 Nankang muddies so they are a small 33, and they just rub with my sagging 2" lift. The front end flexes well but my rear isn't so good. After something that will give me the best ride and flex for the money. Im trying to stay away from ARB as I used to work there, nothing against their product just dont want to spend my money there...

rears on hilux tend to not flex that well due to shackle angle.

mite need to look at extended shackles with longer springs, or cut off your shackle perch and weld it on 20mm or so forward to angle the shackle back a bit more

Would love to use extended shackles, but want the car 100% legal. I have been looking at lovells shocks with dobinson springs, EFS and terrain tamer. Terrain tamer has come in the cheapest, but i am leaning towards the dobinson/lovells set up. Has anyone got any dirt or praise for those kits mentioned?

ok

hey mate i run the ome kit in my ln106 dual cab.ARB bullbar, spotties etc and change between custom tray and stock tub and canopy. The front springs i have had in 2 of my hiluxes now and think they are a good spring, flex ok i need longer shocks and brakelines next. The rears tho are too short and stand the shackles straight up, so i removed a couple of leaves etc, built the heavier tray but to do it properly maybe get a custom top leaf rolled a little longer or as said move the shackle mount slightly forward. The price on OME was great for me over other kits but i am sure better is available

Extended shackles are illegal for on road use! I have ended up with a kit from Suspension Stuff in QLD. Best price on a complete suspension kit, and awesome service. I'm installing it tomorrow, will let you know how it goes.

really!!!
